Sighting in Beauvais, August 1965

Oise, Hauts-de-France, France

Sighting in August 1965 in Beauvais (Oise, France). GEIPAN could not reach a conclusion for lack of sufficient information (class C).

What happened

The account was short and was collected in August 2009, long after the events. The witness could not give a precise date: the sighting took place in 1965 or 1966, probably in August. Several people saw a ball with a metallic sheen on a number of mornings in a row. It hung motionless in the sky to the east, close to a chimney that was being demolished.

No sound was heard during any of these observations. The ball eventually disappeared. No other testimony could be gathered about the phenomenon.

GEIPAN classified the case as C: there is not enough information to put forward an explanation.
