What we collect

If you create an account: your email address, and your display name if you choose one.

If you report a sighting: the date, time, exact location, your description, your photos and videos with their original metadata (which may contain the device's GPS position).

Why

Your address is only used to sign you in and to tell you about the review of your reports. It is never displayed, sold or shared.

Original files and the exact location are used for verification by the moderators and are never published: the location is rounded to about 1 km, and published photos are re-encoded without metadata.

How long

As long as your account exists. You can delete it at any time from “My account”: your email address and unpublished reports are erased immediately; published sightings remain, with no link to you.

Cookies and analytics

A single, strictly necessary cookie keeps you signed in. No advertising or tracking cookies.

Your rights

Access, correction, erasure, objection: contact@skyunknown.com. You may also contact the French data protection authority (CNIL, www.cnil.fr).
