What happened

At about 8:45 pm, a witness was watching an airliner pass by through binoculars. They then noticed a very bright, rectangular shape behind the aircraft and slightly above it, which appeared to be about the size of an airplane.

The gendarmerie units near Orly airport and the head of the Orly Sud regional control centre could provide no further information about the phenomenon. GEIPAN classified the case as C, meaning there was not enough data to reach a conclusion.
