Sighting in Brugny-Vaudancourt, March 27, 2021

At about 4:50 in the morning, the witness was driving on the RN4 toward Nancy with their son. Near Soude, they noticed on their left, toward the north, a stack of white lights that looked to them like a lit-up antenna. They estimated there were between 50 and 100 lights. The formation filled a large part of the sky, rising from about 15° at its base to about 60° at the top. The witness woke their sleeping son so he could see it too.

While driving, the witness felt the object was following the car: they thought they were passing it, but it stayed level with them. It then moved toward Vitry-le-François, accelerated to overtake them very quickly, and vanished due east in about ten seconds. The whole sighting lasted 40 to 50 seconds. One other account matched this one.

The investigation linked the description to Starlink launch no. 22 (Falcon 9, SpaceX, 24 March), whose sixty satellites had flown over the Côte-d'Or on 25 March around 5:05 a.m. The Heavens Above software confirmed this formation at the date and time the witness gave, moving from north-northwest to east. The low position in the sky explains the antenna impression, and the points of light fading out could easily be taken for acceleration. The stated distance and size (100 m, 40 to 50 m) were greatly overestimated, by a factor of 3 to 4, which is common. With no strong strangeness, the case was classified A: Starlink satellite train no. 22.
