Sighting on February 5, 2003 in Buchelay (Yvelines, France). After investigation, GEIPAN considers this phenomenon unexplained (class D).

What happened

One witness saw a large triangular object in the early evening, with nine orange-coloured rings visible on it. It gave off a faint noise similar to that of an aircraft. The sky was cloudy.

After hovering motionless for a few seconds, the object turned by about 45 degrees, then climbed along an upward path and disappeared.

GEIPAN found no explanation for the phenomenon and classified it D, meaning unexplained.
