Sighting in Cachan, September 12, 2025

A witness was at home, in a bedroom, looking through a glass patio door when they noticed a luminous phenomenon in the sky, between east and southeast, between 9:44 and 9:46 a.m. It was an elongated, horizontal shape made up of a row of aligned lights, resembling the windows of an aircraft. The brightness was steady and of medium intensity, with no particular color, and no sound was heard. The object followed a slow, straight path for one to two seconds. The witness rated the strangeness of what they saw at 1 out of 5, saying they were simply intrigued by the unusual look of the aligned lights.

The investigation rests on a single testimony, with no photo or video. The questionnaire contains conflicting data: the duration of 1 to 2 seconds conflicts with a mention of the object disappearing after several minutes. Even though the witness was contacted again, no further details were obtained, so these contradictions were not resolved and the distance and apparent size remained unknown. GEIPAN rated the case's consistency as low to medium and its strangeness as low.

Two hypotheses were considered: an aircraft glimpsed briefly from an unusual angle, with some openings or structures giving the impression of aligned lights, or a passing light reflection seen through the glass door. Without reliable data on distance, apparent size and actual trajectory, neither could be properly tested. GEIPAN classified the case as C: insufficient data.
