What happened

Shortly after midnight, a witness noticed a point of light in the sky coming closer. Over about four minutes it traced a wide curve while losing altitude, then seemed to stop over a hill. The witness then made out the dark mass of a craft with a round porthole giving off a bright blue and orange light. After about ten seconds, the craft vanished instantly.

The gendarmerie investigated but found no other witnesses.

GEIPAN classified the case as C, meaning the data were insufficient. Its conclusion was that the witness had observed the movement of an unknown craft.
