What happened

At 10:18 pm, two witnesses who were at home noticed a glow in the sky. It moved from north to south, then bent its path in a curve and headed southwest. It was circular, with a very bright core, and its colour changed from yellowish-white to purplish-red. The witnesses heard no sound at any point during the observation. The glow then went out abruptly.

No other testimony was gathered. GEIPAN classified the case as B: the phenomenon was probably an atmospheric re-entry.
