What happened

The witness noticed an unusual object crossing a perfectly clear sky at around 8 a.m. It was in view for roughly three minutes. The witness quickly recognised its shape as that of a rearing horse, and photographs were taken.

The witness put the whole case file together themselves, and they identified the object with certainty: it was a large balloon depicting Pegasus. GEIPAN concluded that the sighting was of a child's horse-shaped balloon drifting past, and classified the case as A (identified).
