Sighting in Issy-les-Moulineaux, May 25, 2015

Hauts-de-Seine, Île-de-France, France

Sighting on May 25, 2015 in Issy-les-Moulineaux (Hauts-de-Seine, France). GEIPAN could not reach a conclusion for lack of sufficient information (class C).

What happened

In the evening, at 7:58 p.m., a witness noticed a dark phenomenon in the sky, with six lights arranged in a circle. This was the only account collected. The report is very brief: the description is short, the geographical landmarks are imprecise, and the witness provided neither a drawing nor a photograph.

According to GEIPAN, the circular shape was not necessarily real; it may simply have been the imaginary outline formed by the six lights. These could have belonged to an aircraft or a helicopter, especially as a heliport is very close by. However, the case was not handled soon enough for the air traffic at that time to be checked. Because of the lack of detail in both the testimony and the air traffic information, GEIPAN classified the case as C, for insufficient data.
