Sighting in Jouars-Pontchartrain, 1980

The account was collected in 2008 and concerns events from the late 1980s. The witness could not remember the exact date and placed it in spring or summer, somewhere between 1988 and 1990. The day given in the file was chosen arbitrarily.

Three people arriving at their plot of land noticed a mark on the ground along the edge of a hedge. It was a circle of flattened grass about twenty centimetres wide, with an outer diameter of roughly 2 metres. The mark stayed visible for several months, because the affected grass grew differently from the rest of the garden.

Only one account was gathered. It describes no aerospace phenomenon, only a circle on the ground, so it cannot be linked to any observed phenomenon. GEIPAN judged the testimony unusable and classified the case as C, for insufficient information.
