What happened

During the night, several witnesses, including police officers, saw a luminous object in the sky. It was between 2,000 and 2,500 metres up and drifting south. At times it looked round, and at other times triangular. The witnesses took photographs of it.

No pilot reported the object, and no radar trace of it was recorded. GEIPAN was unable to gather any further information about the sighting.
