Sighting in Lachelle, July 3, 2012

Oise, Hauts-de-France, France

Sighting on July 3, 2012 in Lachelle (Oise, France). GEIPAN could not reach a conclusion for lack of sufficient information (class C).

What happened

At around 9:15 p.m., a motorist noticed a phenomenon that puzzled them. Beneath a cloudy sky, two spheres were moving along, separated by something resembling a rotating propeller. The whole object was a matt grey and had no navigation lights. The witness, a former pilot, watched from their vehicle and could not identify the object. No other testimony was gathered.

A thorough investigation produced no satisfactory hypothesis. GEIPAN considered the witness highly credible, with a flawless interview and reconstruction. However, with no further information or additional testimony, the case remains of average consistency. Its strangeness is also average: plausible hypotheses exist, but none could be confirmed or ruled out. GEIPAN therefore classified the case as C, owing to a lack of information and cross-checking.
