What happened

At around 9 a.m., two witnesses noticed an oval-shaped craft in the sky, directly above the church steeple. It was a very bright, aluminium-colored object, and it moved from the southeast toward the northwest. The sighting lasted about one minute.

The gendarmerie nationale recorded the observation on a very brief information sheet. According to GEIPAN, this kind of sighting can have a range of origins, such as sunlight reflecting off an aircraft, a balloon or a bolide. Because there was not enough information, GEIPAN classified the case as C.
