Sighting in Mouchy-le-Châtel, June 26, 1985

Oise, Hauts-de-France, France

Sighting on June 26, 1985 in Mouchy-le-Châtel (Oise, France). GEIPAN could not reach a conclusion for lack of sufficient information (class C).

What happened

A witness watched a circular object for about five minutes. It measured roughly 1.50 m across and about 1.80 m in height. According to the witness, it seemed to be made of an unstable, gas-like substance. The object hung motionless five metres above the ground and made no sound. It gave off an incandescent glow, then suddenly dematerialised.

The witness said they had already seen something similar in 1976. No further information could be gathered about the phenomenon. GEIPAN described it as a luminous phenomenon of circular shape and classified the case as C, because the available data were insufficient to reach a conclusion.
