What happened
Around 7 p.m., a witness leaving their home noticed a circular, multicolored light in the sky. It stayed motionless. The witness fetched a pair of binoculars to see it better. After about fifteen minutes of watching, they phoned their son, who was out cycling about a kilometer away. He had just seen two bright glows, described as "white balls", before they disappeared. The son joined his father, and together they watched on and off until 11 p.m. They saw luminous phenomena whose colors kept changing and which moved very slowly.
Both witnesses made a statement to the gendarmerie in February 2018, and the father drew what he had seen through the binoculars. In November of that year, an investigator visited the site and reported additional information.
The investigation concluded that the witnesses had probably observed stars. Several points support this: the appearance of the lights, their near-immobility, the length of the observation, and the match with the actual positions of certain stars. The witnesses were not watching continuously and were looking within a narrow field. The oddness of a first star led them to look in a second area, then to return to both, each time mistaking different stars that were genuinely visible. The case remains classified C, because reliable information is lacking.
