Sighting in Noisy-le-Roi, July 2, 1977

Yvelines, Île-de-France, France

Sighting on July 2, 1977 in Noisy-le-Roi (Yvelines, France). GEIPAN could not reach a conclusion for lack of sufficient information (class C).

What happened

Two witnesses, a couple, watched the sky from about 7:30 pm to 8:20 pm. They saw two yellow-orange lights. At first the lights stayed still, then they began to move across the sky. One of them went out instantly. The witnesses left their observation spot before the second light disappeared.

The gendarmerie learned of the sighting through letters. It summoned the witnesses, but they never responded. No other testimony about the phenomenon was collected. Because of this lack of information, the GEIPAN classified the case as C (insufficient data): it was the observation of a luminous phenomenon whose nature could not be determined.
