Sighting in Rosny-sous-Bois, July 1, 2010

Seine-Saint-Denis, Île-de-France, France

Sighting on July 1, 2010 in Rosny-sous-Bois (Seine-Saint-Denis, France). GEIPAN could not reach a conclusion for lack of sufficient information (class C).

What happened

At around 11 a.m., a witness saw a rectangular, aluminium-coloured object cross the sky quickly. The sighting lasted only a few seconds and no sound was heard. The exact date is unknown; it falls somewhere between 1 and 12 July 2010.

No other witness came forward, even though the area is densely populated. GEIPAN considered the case very strange, but the account was thin: a single witness, a very short observation and no precise date. The witness's sincerity was not in question, but a temporary visual disturbance, such as glare, could not be ruled out. A detailed investigation was not possible. GEIPAN classified the case as C because of a lack of reliable information.
