What happened

At around 8:40 p.m., the gendarmerie received several phone calls reporting that a craft giving off a bright light was flying over the town. Gendarmes went to the scene and saw for themselves an orange-colored glow moving at low altitude across a clear sky, heading northeast. The object showed flashing red lights and a steady green light.

The investigation established that this was a DC-9 aircraft carrying out training flights in the region between 8:30 and 9:15 p.m. GEIPAN classified the case as A: the observation of an aircraft.
