What happened

At around 10:30 p.m., a witness saw a very bright fireball cross the atmosphere quickly. A gendarme who was driving several kilometres away at the same moment saw the same phenomenon, which confirmed the first account.

The GEIPAN investigation classified the case as B (probably identified). The two witnesses were independent of each other, and what they saw was most likely an atmospheric re-entry.
