What happened
A witness saw an object about 100 metres away that carried several lights: three red and one orange. Together they formed a diamond shape in a vertical plane. The orange light took the place of the red ones in turn, rotating clockwise. The object hung motionless in the air and made no noise. The witness noticed no particular smell. It then moved off to the north, leaving a whitish smoke behind it.
Sheep penned about 600 metres away showed great panic. A second witness also reported red lights forming a diamond.
The investigation found no traces on the ground and gathered no further information. GEIPAN described the case as the observation of a diamond-shaped craft accompanied by abnormal behaviour in sheep, and it remained unexplained (class D).
