Sighting in Razès, September 23, 2013

Sighting on September 23, 2013 in Razès (Haute-Vienne, France). GEIPAN could not reach a conclusion for lack of sufficient information (class C).
What happened
At around 8:30 pm, a witness driving a car made three successive sightings over a trip of about ten kilometres. Leaving the A20 motorway, they saw a large triangular shape with a red, a yellow and a blue light at each end. A little further on, they spotted another similar shape, but more distant. Finally, coming around a bend, they saw a luminous, potato-shaped mass flying low and slowly, with small triangles around it.
On the road, the witness passed other vehicles whose occupants did not seem surprised by the phenomenon, which puzzled them. No other testimony was collected. During the interview the witness was very emotional, and their stress visibly increased as the account went on.
GEIPAN considers that the second and third sightings may have been influenced by the first, which had strongly impressed the witness. Each of the three sightings can be given plausible explanations, but none could be proven. The account also contains inconsistencies, including the presence of the Moon. Both the strangeness and the consistency of the case were rated at 0.5. The case is classified C, for lack of verifiable information and corroboration.
