Sighting in Ferrette, November 4, 1981

Haut-Rhin, Grand Est, France

Sighting on November 4, 1981 in Ferrette (Haut-Rhin, France). GEIPAN could not reach a conclusion for lack of sufficient information (class C).

What happened

At around 10 in the morning, a group of roofers at work noticed a round object very high in the sky, moving slowly. It stayed in view for about ten minutes. The witnesses could make out several colors or lights that seemed to flash or appear as the object rotated on itself. The sky was clear, so visibility was good. The object then vanished into the landscape.

No further information was gathered about the phenomenon. Because the data were insufficient, GEIPAN could not explain it and classified the case C. Its conclusion refers to the observation of an object flying at very high altitude.
