Two witnesses watched a very bright, spherical object above the horizon for about an hour, between 7:50 and 8:50 a.m. It stayed stationary in the sky. As the sun rose, the object gradually became invisible.
The gendarmerie, contacted soon afterwards, saw no object in the sky that morning or the following morning. No other witness account was collected.
GEIPAN classified the case as B: based on the witnesses' descriptions, they had probably seen a weather balloon at daybreak.
