What happened

Shortly before midnight, several witnesses were aboard a boat when they noticed a flying object above the island of Port-Cros. It looked bigger than a star. They described it as torch-shaped and white-green in colour.

The sighting lasted several seconds. During that time the object moved slowly along a horizontal path.

No other information could be gathered about the phenomenon. GEIPAN classified the case as C, meaning the data were insufficient, and recorded only the observation, lasting a few seconds, of a flying object shaped like a torch.
