Vienne, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France

Sighting on September 10, 1976 in Magné (Vienne, France). GEIPAN considers the phenomenon probably identified (class B).

What happened

At about 11:15 pm, a witness saw a round object go by, about as big as a helicopter in apparent size. It moved from the northwest toward the east and gave off three colors in quick succession: yellow, green, then red. The witness heard no noise at all during the 45 seconds the sighting lasted.

They went to the gendarmerie to report it only a long time after the event. No other witness came forward, even though a newspaper article had been published about the sighting.

The GEIPAN concluded that the witness had probably seen an aircraft passing. The case was classified B, probably identified.
