Sighting in Maresches, May 31, 2010

Nord, Hauts-de-France, France

Sighting on May 31, 2010 in Maresches (Nord, France). GEIPAN could not reach a conclusion for lack of sufficient information (class C).

What happened

Two people saw about twenty orange-colored balls pass over their home at around 10:50 pm. The balls all moved in the same direction and made no noise.

GEIPAN contacted the witness several times to ask for more details but never received a reply. With no gendarmerie report and no further information, no investigation was possible. The features described, several orange balls following a crossing trajectory at the same time, are reminiscent of the known phenomenon of flying lanterns drifting in formation. Because of the lack of information, however, the case was classified C.
