Sighting in Monaco, November 30, 2009

Sighting on November 30, 2009 in Monaco (Monaco). GEIPAN could not reach a conclusion for lack of sufficient information (class C).

What happened

Between 8:30 and 10:00 a.m., three witnesses watched three bright white points moving across a clear, cloudless sky. Only one of them sent an account to the GEIPAN. It describes a very long but intermittent observation, lasting about an hour and a half, during which several points of light moved slowly across the sky.

The GEIPAN received this report only a month after the events. It asked for an official police or gendarmerie report, but the witness did not follow up, so no investigation could be carried out. According to the GEIPAN, the long duration and slow movements could match balloons or seagulls, which were present in the witness's field of view, as the witness themselves suggested, or any other conceivable explanation. None of these hypotheses could be verified. The level of strangeness was low and there was only a single testimony. The case was classified C because of insufficient information.
