Sighting in Noisiel, March 13, 2009

Seine-et-Marne, Île-de-France, France

Sighting on March 13, 2009 in Noisiel (Seine-et-Marne, France). According to GEIPAN, it was most probably an aircraft (plane, helicopter…) (class B).

What happened

At around 7 p.m., a witness saw three white-orange points of light travelling together and forming an equilateral triangle. One of the three lights was blinking. The witness heard no particular noise during the sighting, and the lights soon vanished into the clouds.

The account only reached GEIPAN ten months later, in the form of a questionnaire. No other witness came forward, and because the report was so late, no search for radar traces could be started.

GEIPAN classified the case as B (probably identified). Three lights moving together, one of them blinking, and a path running over the end of the runway at the Lognes-Emerainville aerodrome, in its visual landing corridor, strongly suggest an aircraft on approach to that aerodrome.
