Sighting in Nontron, August 9, 1988

Dordogne, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France

Sighting on August 9, 1988 in Nontron (Dordogne, France). GEIPAN considers the phenomenon probably identified (class B).

What happened

At around 10:45 p.m., a witness saw a very bright green light moving very quickly in an elliptical path. A second green light then appeared suddenly and eventually merged with the first. The witness heard no sound, and the phenomenon stayed visible for about a quarter of an hour.

Nothing could formally confirm it, but the description strongly suggests the effects of a laser projector. GEIPAN therefore classified the case as B, probably identified.
