Sighting on November 1, 2007 in Orgelet (Jura, France). According to GEIPAN, it was most probably the atmospheric re-entry of a space object (rocket stage, debris) (class B).

What happened

At 8:34 pm, a witness was closing their shutters when a luminous phenomenon in the sky caught their attention. For two to three seconds, they saw something resembling a shooting star or a white firework rocket. It crossed the sky at high speed and low altitude, moving from the north-east toward the north-west.

No other information was gathered about the sighting.
