Sighting in Pont-sur-Yonne, November 4, 2008

Yonne, Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, France

Sighting on November 4, 2008 in Pont-sur-Yonne (Yonne, France). GEIPAN could not reach a conclusion for lack of sufficient information (class C).

What happened

In the early evening, a driver saw a black, triangular object move slowly past for 5 to 10 seconds. Two white lights were visible, each on one of the triangle's corners. The witness was driving and therefore in motion throughout the sighting.

The investigation considered a low-flying aircraft, but this was judged very unlikely for that location. GEIPAN rated the case as having low strangeness, since it involved slow-moving white lights. It also rated it as having low consistency, because of an inconsistency with the weather and the very short observation time for a witness in a moving vehicle. For lack of sufficient information, the case was classified C.
