Sighting on December 9, 1992 in Saint-Agnant (Charente-Maritime, France). After investigation, GEIPAN considers this phenomenon unexplained (class D).

What happened

At around 9 p.m., a gendarme serving as deputy to the brigade commander and their spouse saw a large luminous phenomenon. It was made up of five or six lit rectangles lined up in a row, with two particularly intense blue flashes, one at each end of the row. The sighting lasted only a few seconds.

The driver braked. The vehicle following behind also slowed down, but that second vehicle could not be traced.

The GEIPAN investigation could not explain the phenomenon, and the case was classified D: unexplained.
