Sighting in Saint-Ouen, September 29, 2009

Seine-Saint-Denis, Île-de-France, France

Sighting on September 29, 2009 in Saint-Ouen (Seine-Saint-Denis, France). According to GEIPAN, it was most probably a meteor or fireball (class B).

What happened

At 8:27 in the morning, the witness was in their garden when a bright white phenomenon shaped like a water drop passed by, giving off a slightly bluish glow. It moved toward the north-northeast and made no sound. The sighting lasted between 30 and 50 seconds. The witness drew what they had seen.

No other testimony about this phenomenon was collected.

The GEIPAN classified the case as B, meaning probably identified: the object was most likely a bolide (fireball). The witness's drawing is typical of a bolide, and the phenomenon showed little strangeness. However, because the testimony lacked consistency, the investigation could not confirm with certainty that it was a bolide.
