Sighting in Talloires, January 6, 1993

Haute-Savoie, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France

Sighting on January 6, 1993 in Talloires (Haute-Savoie, France). GEIPAN could not reach a conclusion for lack of sufficient information (class C).

What happened

The account was collected in 2015 and concerns events from 1993. At around 7:10 p.m., three people, one adult and two children, watched a triangular craft pass silently above the streetlights of the road. The object was dark. A red light shone at its centre, and several white lights were grouped at each end. It then suddenly left at very high speed and vanished behind a mountain, in the direction of Annecy.

Only one account was reported, and there are no photos or video. GEIPAN considered the account detailed but of low consistency, because of its age and the lack of any other direct witness. The lack of information does not allow any hypothesis to be favoured. The case is classified C: the phenomenon cannot be identified as things stand, since the available evidence is too limited to support a firm conclusion.
