Sighting in Ussy-sur-Marne, June 24, 1994

At about 2:40 a.m., three gendarmes on night patrol noticed lights above the motorway. As they drew closer, they saw that the lights belonged to a triangular object hanging motionless at a height above the ground that they could not specify.

They stopped their vehicle. The object moved slowly toward them and came to rest directly above the car. When the gendarmes drove off again, it shot away at extreme speed until it was only a point in the sky. They also noticed that the communication equipment in the vehicle had stopped working, but could not say exactly when this happened.

The observation lasted around ten minutes, with no noise and no smoke. The GEIPAN found no explanation for the phenomenon and classed the case D (unexplained).
