What happened

Shortly after 6:15 a.m., a motorist who was driving noticed a spherical object. It moved across the sky from east to west and stayed in view for seven to eight seconds. The front of the object was blue, while the rear part, which tapered off, was blue-green. The witness estimated its length at about 100 metres.

The investigation gathered no further information about the sighting. GEIPAN classified it as B (probably identified), since all the characteristics described match those of an atmospheric re-entry.
