Sighting reported to the Italian Air Force on January 15, 1998 at around 15:30, in Vietri sul mare (SA), by members of the public. Aeronautica Militare conclusion: after review of the records, the event was catalogued as a UFO (unidentified flying object).

What happened

The object was elongated and ogival, black in colour. Its speed ranged from low to very high, with straight motion towards the north-west. It was at about 900 metres altitude, under a clear sky with scattered clouds. The report came from a private citizen.
