Sighting in Villers-Saint-Genest, July 1990

The witness reported this case in 2012, concerning an observation made in July or August 1990. They could not remember the exact day. At the time a teenager, the witness was stargazing with their brother from a bedroom in the family home, at around half past midnight. The two young people saw a point of light approach, then an enormous, black, silent craft come to a halt in front of the house. They heard voices and, frightened, hid under a desk until the craft left. When they came out it was 2:30, and they were surprised to have stayed hidden for so long.

On one night in 2005, the witness woke up very agitated and remembered having been aboard the craft during that long period. Surrounded by six beings who were talking among themselves about them, they were terrified. They then suddenly found themselves back under the desk in the bedroom. The witness links this episode to the 1990 observation.

Both accounts were submitted to a researcher at the University of Toulouse, a member of a CNRS laboratory and a specialist in eyewitness testimony. The researcher concluded that the start of the first observation was genuinely experienced, and noted that it resembles a satellite pass. However, the age of the events and the lack of details, such as the date and time, prevent a clear conclusion. The second account shows strong signs of a memory of something not actually lived: a false memory, adopted sincerely but built involuntarily. Such memories can appear after post-traumatic stress; here, the witness retains a traumatic memory of the first experience, with memory problems.
