What happened
Two young people, a couple, were driving when they noticed an object shaped like a rugby ball. It carried three powerful white spotlights and measured roughly 2.5 to 3 metres across. It moved slowly, very close to the ground, and made no noise.
The witnesses followed it for about ten minutes. The object then vanished at very high speed.
The investigation could not link the object to any known aircraft or to any other phenomenon. The case remained unexplained and was classified D by GEIPAN.
