Sighting in Belmont, September 10, 2006

Bas-Rhin, Grand Est, France

Sighting on September 10, 2006 in Belmont (Bas-Rhin, France). GEIPAN considers the phenomenon probably identified (class B).

What happened

An amateur astronomer was downloading the pictures from their camera when they noticed an odd image on the last shot, which puzzled them. Ten days earlier, when the photograph was taken, the witness had seen and heard nothing unusual.

The GEIPAN analysed the photograph the witness had sent in. It concluded that the image was probably a plant seed drifting close to the lens at the moment the picture was taken. The case was classified B (probably identified).
