Sighting in Berrias-et-Casteljau, March 30, 2010
Ardèche, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France
Sighting on March 30, 2010 in Berrias-et-Casteljau (Ardèche, France). GEIPAN could not reach a conclusion for lack of sufficient information (class C).
What happened
At around 11:30 pm, the witness, who was at home, noticed a luminous phenomenon moving slowly and silently toward the northeast, beneath the clouds. It consisted of three glowing balls, with a trail behind the whole thing. No one else reported seeing it, so the case rests on a single account.
GEIPAN considered the observation to be of low strangeness and low consistency, because there was only one witness. It remained unexplained for lack of information. A field investigation carried out more than two years after the events would have yielded little additional information. The case was therefore classified C, insufficient data.
