What happened

Several witnesses noticed a twinkling point of light in the sky one evening, and saw it again the following day. It made no noise and moved very slowly. Its apparent size was similar to that of a star. A red halo surrounded it, and it flickered in several colors. The sighting lasted about an hour and a half.

The GEIPAN investigation concluded that what the witnesses saw was probably the path of a celestial body across the sky. The case was classified B, probably identified.
