Sighting in Bourges, April 24, 2007

Cher, Centre-Val de Loire, France

Sighting on April 24, 2007 in Bourges (Cher, France). GEIPAN could not reach a conclusion for lack of sufficient information (class C).

What happened

The witness reported in March 2009 an observation made nearly two years earlier. One evening in April 2007, between 10 p.m. and midnight, they were driving along a country road when they noticed an object flying at low altitude. Intrigued, they followed it and watched how it moved. No other testimony could be collected.

According to the investigation, the object's speed and movements were consistent with those of a helicopter on reconnaissance. The noise the witness heard was faint, but they were inside their car. However, GEIPAN could not confirm this hypothesis because of the time that had passed between the sighting and the investigation. The case was classified C, as there was not enough evidence to validate the proposed explanation.
