What happened

At around 9:10 a.m., a motorist caught sight of a round object for about one second. It measured 20 to 40 centimetres in diameter and was bright red, with a white trail behind it. It was falling vertically at high speed.

The investigation could not gather any other testimony, physical trace or further information. GEIPAN concluded that the witness had seen an object falling, most probably an atmospheric re-entry, and classified the case as B (probably identified).
