What happened

Around midnight, several members of the same family were standing in the doorway of their home when they saw a luminous phenomenon go by. It was a yellow-orange ball crossing the sky from the north-east toward the south at very high speed. The sighting lasted only a few seconds. The object left behind a glow that lit up the night.

GEIPAN concluded that these people most likely witnessed an atmospheric re-entry. The case was classed B (probably identified).
