What happened

Several people, among them gendarmes, noticed a distant bright object in the sky. It was watched from 7:40 pm until about 10:30 pm and gave off green and orange glimmers. According to the witnesses, it appeared to move noticeably. No sound was heard at any point during the sighting.

GEIPAN concluded that the witnesses most likely saw the star Sirius, which was especially easy to see at that time of year. The case was therefore classified B, meaning probably identified.
