Sighting in France, November 2, 1978

Sighting on November 2, 1978, exact location not given (France). GEIPAN could not reach a conclusion for lack of sufficient information (class C).

What happened

Between 6:45 and 7:30 in the evening, several people in two départements, the Loire and the Haute-Loire, watched a luminous object move across the sky. It was made up of several lights of different colors.

The accounts differed on some points, but all the witnesses were struck by the fact that the object made no noise at all.

The gendarmerie investigated, but it gathered too little information to support any hypothesis. GEIPAN therefore classified the case as C, insufficient data.
