Sighting in Hadol, July 25, 2007

While watching the film they had shot during a countryside drive, the witness noticed a dark grey, oval or round phenomenon cross the landscape very fast and without a sound. They had seen nothing while filming. They later sent the GEIPAN their questionnaire, three still images and a link to the video. The original video, although requested, was never supplied, and no other witness account was collected.

The phenomenon appears at 1:01 in the footage and vanishes at once. The witness took it for an object moving at very high speed, even making a 90° turn.

Investigators found that this brief image closely resembles what an insect or a speck of dust produces when it passes through an area where the lens is out of focus. It disappears quickly because the camera can no longer resolve it. The GEIPAN classified the case as A: video artefact.
