What happened
Several witnesses noticed three bright points lined up in the sky. Between the second and third points, they also saw a globe that shone even more brightly than the others.
The investigation concluded that this was probably the planet Jupiter together with three of its moons. These bodies remain well placed for viewing throughout the winter, when conditions are favourable for observing them. GEIPAN classified the case as B (probably identified) and summed up the sighting as the presence of a large bright point in the sky.
